Forwardly Curved Draft Fan

Sturtevant's switch to straight from spooned blades in the 1930's was based on two facts: 1) The hot-forming required to create the spooning added an additional layer of cost and 2) The depressions caused a long-term structural weakness in the blades.

Application
Designed for medium duty mechanical draft work where erosion was not a serious factor.
Sssss
Performance
Delivered large volumes of air at a relatively low peripheral speed. Capacities were up to 650,000 cfm and for temperatures up to 800 degrees.
