Application
Both motor and turbine driven, they were largely used for vacuum cleaning systems and furnishing air for oil and gas burners

Construction
The small type used aluminum impellers to allow the use of a large number of stages of small diameter impellers to handle small quantities of air or gas efficiently at high pressures.
