Cindervane Fan

Designed in 1916, this was an attempt by Sturtevant, prior to the first successful installation of electrostatic precipitation in 1929 for boiler flue dust by Lodge-Cottrell Ltd, to clean up boiler pollution

Construction
The seperating action took place in the wheel. The cinders and flue gases entered at the inlet of the paddle wheel fan. The blades were provided with channels to catch and direct the cinders into the chambers in the sides of the casing.
