1933. Silentvanes ready to be shipped out. In 1922, with the early announcement of the first commercially successful backwardly-curved design, creating a large jump in fan efficiency, the switch in fan popularity among architects, engineers and industrial users from the multivane designs (forwardly-curved blades) of that era was dramatic. Soon more than 1000 Silentvanes had been sold, many for large projects like the Holland Tunnel.
