Application
At a time when central air conditioning was beyond the reach of most homeowners, Atticvane fans, by exhausting attic heat, performed a similar function at a fraction of the cost. At night, cooler outside air could be flooded into the house using the same mechanical vantliation.

Construction
A single groove v-belt drive was used to transmit power from the motor to the fan. The plenum box, or enclosure, which connected the grille opening to the attic was constructed from insulating wallboard.
